The 14-episode children’s series Pan Tau, broadcast first in 2020, is a reinterpretation of the iconic 1970s series. Produced by Caligari Film under director Franziska Meyer Price, it celebrated the original’s 50th anniversary. British comedian Matt Edwards stars as Pan Tau, a silent magician who helps schoolchildren using his bowler hat. The modern adaptation was praised for its special effects, direction, and Edwards’ charm. It has been available in the ARD Mediathek since September 27, 2020.
